Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the most revered Lata Ji was not just a singer, she is a great personality recorded in the history of India. She mesmerized many generations with her amazing singing.
CM Chouhan was virtually addressing the National Lata Mangeshkar Alankaran Ceremony organised at Indore.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Lata Didi’s statue would be installed in Indore. Along with this, a museum will be constructed, which will have a collection of songs and memories of Lata Ji.
Not only this, Sangeet Academy and Sangeet Mahavidyalaya will also be started in the name of Lata Ji, he said.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that without Lata Ji, music is barren and songs are incomplete.
The songs of Lata Ji, her patriotism and culture will live on for ages.
CM Chouhan said that he often listens to Lata Ji’s songs in all his journeys.
Chief Minister Chouhan congratulated and welcomed the eminent personalities, Shailendra Singh, Anand Milind and Kumar Sanu, who were honoured in today’s decoration ceremony.
Culture Minister Thakur said that songs and music are synonymous with God. Music plays an important role in providing happiness, peace and satisfaction.
As per the wishes of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Indore’s Sangeet Mahavidyalaya is being established in the name of swar samragyi (melody queen) Lata Mangeshkar Ji, she said.
Now this school will be known as Lata Mangeshkar Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, she said.
While paying tributes to the melody queen Lata Mangeshkar and taking forward her work, the Culture Department will always work for the preservation and promotion of music and art.
In the decoration ceremony, National Lata Mangeshkar Award for the year 2019 was given to Shailendra Singh for playback singing, for the year 2020 to Anand-Milind for music direction and for the year 2021 to Kumar Sanu for playback singing.
After the decoration ceremony, a musical evening was organised.
In which musical and melodious songs were presented by the famous singer Sushri Alka Yagnik and Group, Mumbai.
Tourism and Culture Minister Usha Thakur, MLAs Ramesh Mendola and Malini Gaur, former Mayor Krishnamurari Moghe, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Director of Alauddin Khan Sangeet and Kala Academy Jayant Kumar Bhise inaugurated the National Lata Mangeshkar decoration ceremony by lighting the lamp.
