Atleast twelve passengers died after a bus they were boarded fell in river Narmada in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday.
The bus was going from Indore to Pune.
The preliminary cause of accident appears to be the driver lost control over the bus that broke the railings of bridge and fell in the river, MP Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra said.
The bodies of twelve passengers are fished out from the river while fifteen passengers were rescued by the team of divers, he said.
The bus belonged to the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation, he said.
The accident occurred near Khalghat while the bus was crossing the river Narmada near Dhamnod in Dhar district.
Sooner the police received the information the rescue team was sent to the spot, he said.
The flow of water is strong in the river due to rains still the rescue team are searching the passengers, he said.
Some 50 – 55 passengers were boarded in the bus, he said.
