There are few days left for the financial year 2017-18. In this way, the preparations for filing income tax returns for the upcoming financial year 2018-19 have begun. In view of this, the Income Tax Department has initiated an initiative to secure taxpayers’ e-filing accounts. Advisory has been issued by the department to see what the taxpayer should do to keep their account secure.
The Income Tax Department has advised taxpayers to keep their accounts safe from double-layer security. So that no one can easily steal information from your account.
The Department has given some methods to lock the account to prevent unauthorized use of the account. For this, the department has also started facilitating logging of direct tax account through other units.
Through which options can be logged-
1- Logging through Net Banking
2- Logging through DSC,
3- Logging through OTP using Aadhaar
4-bank account through login evc Doing
5-Dmat Account Login Through EVC
Income tax account can also be reset through these mediums.The Income Tax Department has said in its tweet that no agreement has been reached with the security of the e-filing website. However, users should keep their password strong or they should have a secret question that no one can steal it. Also lock the e-filing account through its base OTP or Net Banking.
