The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Purulia (West Bengal) against 5 accused in a case related to alleged murder of Tapan Kandu, Councillor from Jhalda Municipality (West Bengal).
The chargesheet is filed against accused Dipak Kandu, Kalebar Singh @ Gopal Singh, Naren Kandu, Md. Asik @ Basir Khan and Satyaban Pramanik.
The CBI had registered a case on 06.04.2022 in compliance to the orders dated 04.04.2022 of the High Court at Calcutta in WPA No. 5418 of 2022 thus took over the investigation of the case earlier registered at Police Station Jhalda vide FIR no. 38/2022 relating to alleged murder of Tapan Kandu, a Councillor from Jhalda Municipality.
It was further alleged that on 13.03.2022, when the complainant alongwith Tapan Kandu and other friends were returning from evening walk through Bagmundi Road at around 5.15 pm, three unknown miscreants on a motor cycle came from opposite direction and one of them fired three bullets aiming at Tapan Kandu, the official note of CBI said.
Thereafter, the accused escaped. Shri Tapan Kandu collapsed and was taken to Jhalda Hospital and further he was taken to Ranchi Hospital, where he was declared dead.
