Civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated two new flights from Jabalpur in a function held at Jabalpur Airport premises today.
The two new flights inaugurated including Delhi-Jabalpur-Bhopal-Gwalior will be avaiable for 3 days a week and Delhi-Jabalpur-Bilaspur-Bhopal will be available for 4 days a week.
Addressing the inaugural function, Scindia said In Madhya Pradesh there was 554 flight movements ten months back now it is 926 flights movement.
In last ten months the flights movement in Madhya Pradesh has increased by 70 percent, he said.
On start of the two new flights Jabalpur is now connected to 8 cities and there is 160 flight movements per week against 94 flight movements and was connected to 6 cities when I became civil aviation ministry, he said.
Indore now has 468 flights movement and connected to 20 cities against 308 flight movements and connected to 12 cities nine months back, he said.
Now from Bhopal has 200 flight movements and connected to 12 cities against 94 fights and 5 cities nine months back, he said.
Now Gwalior has 94 flight movements and connected to 8 cities against 56 flight movements and connected to 4 cities nine months back, he said.
Under Udaan Yojna in last six years 1.94 lakh flights were operated in which over 1 crore passengers travelled was possible due to the subsidy provision so that the common man can also travel through air flight, he said.
Earlier in the day Scindia attended the “PM Nationwide interaction with beneficiaries of Central Government Schemes” programme at Manas Bhawan in Jabalpur.
