Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said our cities are engines of growth.
Madhya Pradesh will implement the five mantras given by Prime Minister Modi for the development of cities expeditiously, he said. These mantras include making cities the face of the state, making the lives of citizens easier, providing quality life to every citizen, freeing the poor from inequalities and provide them benefits and facilities to live with self-respect, he said.
The efforts are being made to make such a system that the cities should be clean, no one sleeps hungry, no one remains homeless and unemployed, no one is orphaned, the dream of the poor to have a pucca house should be fulfilled and there should be no anti socials in the cities, he said.
The work of giving pattas and pucca houses will be done by earmarking a place for housing for the poor.
Prime Minister Modi has pledged to provide pucca house to every poor by the year 2024-25.
Chief Minister Chouhan congratulated Urban Development Minister Bhupendra Singh and his team for the important steps taken for the development of cities.
The innovative step to distribute moong dal to save school children from malnutrition is also started, which is unique in the country, he said. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the inauguration, dedication and bhoomi-pujan programme of various development works worth Rs. 21.58 crore at Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium, Bhopal.
Chief Minister Chouhan said cities also face the problem of illegal colonies.
For this, a policy of legalizing the colonies has been prepared. Basic facilities like roads and drinking water will be provided in these colonies. The legitimate electricity connections will also be provided in these colonies.
Chief Minister Chouhan said the work of granting building permission is being done in 15 days instead of 30 days.
The electrification in colonies pending for regularization as per norms is the decision has been taken by the state government to electrify such colonies of the state, action of whose regularization is being taken, with the permission of Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission.
For rich or poor, cities are for everyone. The number of Deendayal Rasoi Kendras will be increased to provide adequate food for Rs 10 per thali to the people coming to the cities from other places.
For this the state government will provide the necessary budget. The system of night shelters will also be made better.
The children will be educated to avoid drug abuse and use of intoxicants. The number of shelters made for them will also be increased.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that every city’s is celebrating its Pride day.
The Pride Day has been celebrated in 31 cities of the state. Soon, programmes based on the history, culture and traditions of the city will be held in the Pride Day celebrations of Bhopal and Indore.
A campaign to donate toys to anganwadis will also be run in cities. At present, food grains and other materials are being received from farmers and other sections for the Anganwadi centres. Sambal Yojana has been reintroduced for the welfare of labourers.
This is a life changing scheme for the labourers of the unorganized sector.
Chief Minister Chouhan said after the Startup Summit from January 26, investment of Rs 750 crore has been made successfully.
Madhya Pradesh will work differently in this area. Soon 2 lakh people will get employment opportunities in the state.
The youth are getting this opportunity by celebrating Employment Day every month. In the quarter from January to March, about 14 lakh youth have got employment opportunities.
Chief Minister Chouhan said it will be ensured that the street vendors get maximum benefits of the scheme, so that they prosper.
Under the Mukhya Mantri Udyam Kranti Yojana, there is a provision to give loan amount ranging from Rs1 lakh to Rs 50 lakh with government guarantee.
More and more youth will be benefited from this. We have resolved to provide maximum opportunities of employment and self-employment to the needy, he said.
