A BSF Soldier sacrificed his life for the sake of the country on Tuesday in a firing from Pakistan across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tangdhar.
Officials said that constable SK Murmu (28) was seriously injured in the incident of the ceasefire. He died at Army Hospital in Srinagar at 8:30 pm. Officials said that the Mormu area was stationed on the forward defied location (FDL) on the Line of Control. Sniper shot was targeted at them. The bullet hit the young man’s stomach. A senior official said that he was shot by Pakistani forces. Murmu, living in Bihar’s Jamui District, joined the BSF in 2013.
On 4th of February also, An Indian soldier and a teenager were injured in a fierce indiscriminate firing by Pakistan army on Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. Officials gave information about this. An official of the police said, “Pakistani soldiers targeted Indian checkpoints on the Line of Control in Shahpur area of Poonch district, causing unprovoked firing. They targeted Indian checkpoints with small automatic weapons and mortars. Indian Army also responded effectively and strongly.”
The officer said, “A 15-year-old girl and a soldier’s army were injured in Pakistani firing, who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.” According to army officials, the firing began at 11 o’clock in which Pakistani soldiers used small automatic weapons and mortars. He said that Indian soldiers also responded firmly.
