MP Minister for Cottage and Village Industries and Public Works Gopal Bhargava expected ‘khadi and silk fabrics’ of Madhya Pradesh will make it to a global market after display of the products made from it in the fashion show ‘Malwa Melange’ held in Mumbai.
He acknowledged the works of the weavers, fashion designers and departmental staff of the state for the successful organizing of the fashion show.
The state government is trying to provide national and international market to handicrafts of the state, Minister Bhargava said.
This will give respect to the handloom and craftsmanship of the state. In addition, their products will also get reasonable prices, he said.
The fashion show ‘Malwa Melange’ organized by the Madhya Pradesh Cottage and Village Industries Department was concluded at Mumbai where various designs and colorful attire made of handloom fabrics were presented by renowned fashion designer Archana Kochhar.
Malwa Melange was amalgamation of ancient handloom style and traditional western style fabrics will be a unique gift for the modern Indian bride.
This collection was presented on the ramp by actress Rakul Preet to the melodious tune of the famous musician and singer Meet brothers of the state.
The fashion-show was presented in four stages by different models.
The synchronized scintillation was demonstrated in the first stage. This first stage show included traditional hand made Chanderi and costumes with contemporary fringes.
The costumes and ornaments adorned with ivory, yellow, pink and blue shimmering stars and pearls enthralled everyone.
The collection featured an Indo-Western themed look from a group of colors.
In the second stage, the garments made of a mixture of sheesha, gota and leather embroidery on pure silk were presented. Adorned with a fusion color palette of ivory base mustard, orange and purple, the collection made a mark in itself.
In the third stage, in the traditional Indian wedding ceremony, the turmeric ceremony of the bride was presented as “Flower Haldi”.
The entire stage was decorated with yellow flowers by Archana Kochhar with colorful and unique embroidered garments matching the colors of turmeric, tailored to the bride’s intention. The sequence was dedicated to the new age tradition of “Phool Ki Haldi”.
In the fourth stage, the brightness of the mirrors to the depth of the soul was focused. This display of fabrics enriched with pure silk and chanderi was self-indulgent. Mirrors and beads were used to make these costumes.
