The Jail department has suspended a jail superintendent of Gwalior Central Jail for allowing Congress MP (Rajya Sabha) and former chief minister Digvijay Singh to meet a accused inside his office as per the viral video on social media.
State Home Minister Narottam Mishra told reporters that Manoj Kumar Sahu, jail superintendent of Gwalior Central Jail Manoj Kumar Sahu is suspended in this matter.
He (Digvijay Singh) was chief minister of the state for ten years and he must be aware about the rules that to meet the accused is not permitted inside the office of jail superintendent.
The jail department’s action came after the matter reached the headquarters in Bhopal.
Singh was on Gwalior visit on Monday when he went to Central Jail Gwalior to met NSUI district president Shivraj Yadav accused of attempt to murder of a sub inspector allegedly threw a burning effigy on him (sub inspector) during demonstration against BJP recently.
