Prime Minister Narendra Modi hold a virtual meeting with US President Joesph R Biden on Monday night.
Modi said the meeting is taking place ahead of the fourth India-US ‘2+2’ dialogue in Washington. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar led on the Indian side while the US by Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony J Blinken.
About ties with US as the world’s two largest and oldest democracies, Modi said “we are natural partners.”
PM hoped that the ongoing talks between Russia and Ukraine will pave the way for peace.
During meeting the prime minister gave reference of his phone conversation with the Presidents of both Ukraine and Russia.
Modi described the recent reports of the killing of innocent civilians in Bucha city as “very worrying” and demanded a fair investigation.
India is sending a consignment of medicine on demand of Ukraine, Modi said.
On his part, Biden welcomed India’s humanitarian support for the people of Ukraine.
