The Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) seeks reply from state Director General of Police (DGP) within four weeks into alleged sexual and mental harassment of woman inspector by the superintendent of police.

MPHRC chairman Justice Narendra Kumar Jain took cognizance on a complaint received from the woman police inspector Hema (name changed) on April 1, 2022 accusing her superior the superintendent of police of sexual and mental harassment.

She met the MPHRC Chairman and narrated her ordeal and handed over her complaint.

The woman police inspector in her complaint accused the superintendent of police by doing so has deprived her of human rights and right to live a dignified life.

The commission registered the complaint of the applicant woman inspector.

The commission has directed the DGP to conduct a thorough investigation into allegations mentioned in the complaint against the Superintendent of Police by an officer of the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) or Inspector General of Police (IG).

Furthermore the Commission has directed the DGP to submit a report before April 29 next.
