On the basis of a tip, officials from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) recovered roughly 3 kg of drugs worth crores in Bengaluru. Officials stated the shipment, which was to be delivered to Australia, was disguised in three lehengas, and that one individual has been detained in connection with the case.
On October 21, a team led by NCB Bangalore Zonal Director Amit Ghawate intercepted the package and recovered roughly 3 kg of white-colored crystalline material, believed to be pseudoephedrine, hidden in three lehengas.
The prohibited material was discovered after opening each fold of the lehengas’ fall line. The cargo was scheduled to be shipped from Narasapuram, Andhra Pradesh, to Australia. The officials followed the package to Chennai and identified the consignor.
The information was shared with the NCB team in Chennai, who conducted a two-day investigation and discovered the true address of the parcel sender on Friday. The item was sent using phoney addresses and paperwork, according to the investigation.
In this case, further inquiry is still ongoing.
