“The online CTET will be conducted with strict compliance of COVID protocols. This would ensure not only safety but would facilitate faster processing and declaration of results,” the CBSE notification read.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently issued a notification. It outlined certain changes to the current method for conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) examination.
According to an official announcement, the next CTET exam will be held in an online mode in December 2021/January 2022. The move is expected to encourage future teachers to become computer literate. It will also reduce the amount of paper utilized when question papers and OMR sheets are printed.
The CBSE will develop facilitation centers in districts where candidates will be able to take online mock tests for free.
The CBSE said in its statement that it is committed to improving the quality of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). In order to reflect the basic aim of recruiting and filtering applicants with the aptitude and desire to teach.
CTET should reflect the fundamental and important competencies required to enter the teaching profession and test these capabilities with a high level of validity, reliability, and fairness.
“Therefore, it is hereby notified that within the existing syllabus of CTET and structure of the question paper, the question papers will be developed to assess less of factual knowledge and more of conceptual understanding, application, problem-solving, reasoning, and critical thinking,” the notification read.
“A detailed assessment framework with measurable competencies, sample blueprints, and sample questions will be released by the CBSE to enable aspiring candidates to prepare for the CTET examination. The detailed notification regarding the schedule for submission of online application form for next examination of CTET and dates of examination will be issued separately in due course of time,” CBSE said.
