For students in Courses 10 and 12, schools in Chhattisgarh will start physical classes on August 2. In rural regions, local panchayats can decide on the resumption of education for pupils in Schools 1 to 5 and Class 8, while in urban areas, concerned boards will decide and classes will resume on August 2. Virtual classes, in addition to actual sessions in offline mode, will keep the teaching-learning process moving forward.
The Chhattisgarh government also said that schools will reopen only in districts where the Covid positive rate was less than 1% in the preceding seven days while giving the instructions for resuming classes.
Classes will be offered on alternating days with a 50% attendance requirement. Students experiencing symptoms such as a cold, fever, or cough will not be permitted to sit in the classrooms, according to the official announcement, which also stated that physical education lessons are not required.
According to sources, all Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state will begin operations on August 2, while medical, engineering and polytechnic colleges would reopen in stages.
In the tribal-dominated Bastar division, which includes seven districts, the government has also approved the reopening of hostels and residential schools.
