There was a lot of debate about sexual violence and a voice was raised about it from the men’s side. However, the Supreme Court of India rejected the demand for sexual equality in the Indian Penal Code in the petition filed for rape, sexual abuse, breach of privilege, or subsequent chase. The Supreme Court said that they are for protecting all women and any changes can be brought only in parliament.
“The provision in the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been made in order to protect women,” said Rishi Malhotra, advocate of the bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra. Whereas, the section of POSCO is based on gender equality in which children under the age of 18 are included. But, these streams protect women. ”
It is worth noting that the lawyer Rishi Malhotra had demanded to revise the legality of that law on the basis of gender equality and bring the men to that circle as women.
Another bench of justice, Justice DJ Chandrachud said, “Parliament has enacted legislation in view of many types of crimes against women. Similarly, in the case of sexual violence, Parliament felt that it is a woman who can be a victim of it, and on the basis of this, she made a law to deal with them. “
