~Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has requested an appointment with the state governor this evening amid reports that he will resign, four months after he took over.
~Tirath Rawat had been in Delhi for the past three days and had several meetings with the BJP leadership.
~Uttarakhand’s Legislature party meeting is likely to be held in the next 24 to 36 hours, and Rawat is said to have asked for a meeting with Governor Baby Rani Maurya tomorrow in Dehradoon, sources said.
`His job was on the line because of the uncertainty over an election that he needed to win and a rift within the state BJP unit.
~Tirath Rawat was summoned to Delhi on Wednesday by the BJP leadership and yesterday, he was asked to stay put, sources say.
