In the engineering colleges of backward states facing the shortage of teachers, students from PhD and MTech will now teach IIT, NIT and Triple IT. In the 53 engineering colleges of 11 states, including UP and Bihar, these recruitment has been done on 1225 posts and the teachers have started taking charge. Union Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar gave this information on Wednesday.
Javedkar said that these teachers have been appointed for three years. The teachers will be paid salaries by the government. In the government engineering colleges of the backward states of the country, the posts of teachers were vacant for many years. In some colleges 60% of the posts were vacant. Even after repeated advertisement, a teacher was not showing interest in teaching in these colleges. In such a situation, the central government asked the students to come out from IIT, NIT, IIIT and IISER in the tectrip project to improve the level of technical education. Prakash Javadekar said that the government received more than five thousand applications, out of which 1225 have been selected and sent to 53 colleges. During this, they would be given honorarium of Rs 70,000 per month. The total cost of the project will be Rs 375 crore.
The lack of teachers in technical education was a big problem. Now one lakh engineering students of backward states will get better education.
