The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has yet to provide any important updates in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s killing, despite taking up the investigation 10 months ago.
On the first anniversary of the actor’s death, the investigating agency clarified that the case had not been closed. According to insiders, the investigation is still ongoing and all possibilities are being investigated.

On June 14 last year, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mont Blanc mansion in Bandra, Mumbai. The case was initially classified as a “suicide” by the Mumbai Police Department.
After the Chhichhore star’s father, KK Singh, filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty accusing her of abetment to suicide, embezzlement, and other charges, the Bihar police stepped into the investigation amid suspicions of possible foul play in the death and the ‘justice for SSR’ movement.
Rhea and the other accused were then questioned by CBI officials in August. They also reconstructed the scenario of Sushant’s death with the help of forensic and medical professionals. However, there has been no notable development in the case since then. The Bihar government urged that the CBI take up the probe after Bihar Police claimed a lack of cooperation in Mumbai. On August 19, the Supreme Court directed the CBI to take over the investigation.
Rhea, her brother Showik, and some SSR employees were detained.
They have been released on bond. In the same case, SSR’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani is currently incarcerated for his suspected involvement with drugs.
When Sushant was found dead in his Mumbai flat, Rhea was dating him.
Sushant’s father, KK Singh, filed an FIR alleging Rhea of aiding suicide and money laundering just days after his death.
The matter was handed over to the CIA, with the Enforcement Directorate and Narcotics Control Bureau looking into the allegations of money laundering and drug trafficking, respectively. In September 2020, Rhea was imprisoned for over a month. In October, she was released on bail.
Rhea Chakraborty referred to Sushant Singh Rajput as her “guardian angel” in the note, and said that thinking about him brings up a “barrage of emotions. There isn’t a moment when I don’t believe you’re still here.
