Due to the country’s current pandemic crisis, Uttar Pradesh has extended the Corona curfew in the state until May 31, 7 a.m. The Lockdown was set to end on May 24, but it has been extended for another week.
The Uttar Pradesh government said it is committed to protecting the lives and livelihoods of the citizens of the state by extending the curfew. In order to combat the second wave of Covid, they have implemented a partial corona curfew program.
“There are positive results of statewide partial corona curfew. This is helping in breaking the transmission chain. There is also a lot of support from the people. The active cases are steadily decreasing. In this case, the government has decided to extend the partial corona curfew till May 31, 7 am.”
“Essential essential services like vaccination, industrial activities, medical work, etc will be allowed to continue uninterrupted,” the UP government said.
The statewide curfew will be in place until 7 a.m. on May 31, according to a government order. The limits would not apply to vaccinations, commercial operations, essential facilities, or travel related to medical emergencies.
In the last 24 hours, the state has reported 6,046 new confirmed cases of infection and 226 new Covid deaths. In the province, there are currently 94,482 open cases, with a total of 15,51,716 patients that have recovered.
According to the state government’s health department, Covid-19 has taken 18,978 lives in Uttar Pradesh since the outbreak began.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted at a press conference in Kanpur on Saturday that the state’s second wave of Covid-19 infections would be suppressed by May 30. He urged officials to ban massive crowds and urged residents of the state to behave in a Covid-appropriate manner.
The Chief Minister stated that steps are being taken to increase the vaccination rate in June.
In comparison to the previous week, the average daily infections in Uttar Pradesh have decreased by nearly 50% in the last seven days. According to data collected by the Union Health Ministry, only five districts in Uttar Pradesh have a positivity score of more than 10%.
