A spokesperson for the Hisar Municipal Corporation said on Tuesday that an official who has ensured a dignified funeral for over 300 Covid-19 victims since the onset of the pandemic succumbed to the disease only two days after testing positive for the virus.
Praveen Kumar, 43, died Monday night at a private hospital, according to a municipal corporation spokesperson.
Kumar was the leader of the municipal corporation’s team charged with cremating the remains of coronavirus victims.
“He had cremated over 300 Covid bodies so far since last year. He tested positive two days ago. He was admitted to a private hospital, where his oxygen level kept dipping due to which he died,” the spokesperson said.
Kumar was also the secretary of the Safai Karamchari Union of the Municipal Corporation of Safai.
