In Delhi from the 3rd of May will begin vaccination of 18 to 45 years of age, CM Arvind Kejriwal said. In a press conversation on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that the national capital received 4.5 lakh doses of Covid 19-vaccines and that the same doses are administered to the different districts.
“Vaccinations for people between 18-44 years started at only one center. This is symbolic only. 4.5 doses of lakh vaccine have been obtained. It is spread in the district. Large-scale vaccination in Delhi will begin from the day after tomorrow. There is no walk-in for now. I ask people to just come with an appointment and registration, “ANI news agency quoted him as saying.
The center opened vaccines on 1 May last month for all adults and said that the manufacturers could purchase direct doses from states and private hospitals. It also said that 50% of the vaccines must be sent to the center.
In several countries, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Punjab, vaccination of the 18-44 age group will be unable to commence from today on the basis of low supplies. Most also put orders with the manufacturers for vaccine doses.
Mr. Kejriwal said on Friday that people were not supposed to wait for Covid shot because of a vaccine shortage. “We’ll let you know until the vaccines arrive,” he added, adding “both vaccine producers (Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech) will send us sixty-seven lakh doses in two months’ time per year.”
On the second wave of pandemic diseases and shortages of hospital beds, antibiotics, and life-saving oxygen, Delhi announced 375 COVID-19 deaths, as well as over 27,000 new cases on Friday.
Just in the morning after 25 patients died of the lack of oxygen in a Delhi hospital, eight more people died of live gas in the Batra Hospital of Delhi.
