Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lost to Mumbai Indians (MI) by 10 runs after a batting meltdown in the run chase. Nitish Rana’s diligent work up the order was reversed by KKR’s middle-order crash. Rana scored 57 runs off 47 deliveries for his second fifty of the season. Shubman Gill, who scored 33 runs off 24 deliveries, and shared a 72-run opening partnership. With the exception of the openers, none of the KKR batsmen reached double figures. Rahul Chahar was the leading wicket-taker, with four wickets for 27 runs in four innings. Trent Boult took two wickets in the final over, defending 15 runs.

In the death overs, MI’s batting collapsed, and they were bowled out for 152. After bowling only two overs at the end of the innings, Andre Russell picked up a five-wicket haul. Suryakumar Yadav made a half-century and shared a 76-run second-wicket stand with Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma, the captain, scored 43 runs but lost his wicket just as he was about to accelerate. Krunal Pandya’s late-inning cameo helped MI pass the 150-run mark and finish with a respectable number. Hardik Pandya also had a sluggish 15-run inning. The remaining seven batsmen all struggled to reach double figures. Eoin Morgan’s field placements and bowling changes were right on. Pat Cummins took a pair of wickets in addition to Russell, while Varun Chakravarthy, Shakib Al Hasan, and Prasidh Krishna each took one wicket.

Mumbai Indians Spin twins Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar have been the standout performers for the team in blue. Both spinners took 5 wickets among them. Left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya bowled fabulously by conceding just 13 runs of his 4 over, o the other Hand Rahul Chahar proved to be fatal for KKR Batsman. The young leg spinner took four wickets and ensured victory for his side.
