A second FIR has been filed by Zomato deliver guy to the Electronic City police in Bengaluru, nearly a week after a woman make-up artist in Bengaluru accused a Zomato executive of abuse and attack.
According to a police officer, Kamaraj reported on March 9 that Hitesha hit him with slippers, accused her of defaming him, and hurled abuse at him.
Hitesha is convicted in the second FIR under many provisions of the Indian Penal Code, including 341 (wrongful restraint), 355 (assault or criminal force), 504 (intentional insult), and 506. (criminal intimidation).
In his complaint letter to the police, Kamaraj claims that on March 9 at about 4:50 p.m., Histesha became enraged after her food order was delayed and fought and assaulted him. He also claims that she prevented him from leaving her house and then repeatedly beat his left hand with her sandals.
Hitesha, meanwhile, has removed her viral video from Twitter, after which the police arrested Kamaraj on March 10.
Kamaraj has been suspended from Zomato pending the results of the probe. “We talked to Hitesha as soon as we got (news of) the escalation, visited her, and offered our full support,” Zomato said in a tweet. We keep in contact with her on a regular basis. We’ve suspended the distribution partner from our network pending an investigation, as per our policy. Our staff has been with him the whole time, and we’ll make sure the proper procedures are followed.”
