Today afternoon, a fire broke out in the Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express compartment due to a short circuit.
The incident took place near the Kansro district.
C-5, the eighth coach of the 02017 Dehradun-Delhi Shatabdi Express, caught fire about 12:20 p.m. A total of 35 passengers from the affected coach were relocated to other coaches, while the train’s bogie was removed.
The Raiwala police station said in a press release that SO Rishikesh Control Room notified Amarjeet Singh Rawat of a fire onboard the Dehradun-Delhi Shatabdi Express. The officer, along with other police officers, successfully stopped the express ahead of Kansaro railway station and rescued at least 35 passengers from the C-5 bogey.
No deaths or injuries were reported and all passengers were evacuated safely, according to ANI, Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar.
