Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) on Wednesday issued an audio clip proclaiming, “Azhar is alive” with a warning “fear God” to the authorities. Interestingly, on the same day, Pak army denied Azhar’s existence on its soil.
A day after Masood Azhar’s son and brother were taken into preventive custody, the JeM chief issued an audio clip proclaiming “I’m alive” and warned authorities to “fear God”.
This is what Pak had to say following the deadliest terror attack in the history in south Kashmir’s Pulwama on March 2, “JeM chief Masood Azhar is in Pak and ‘very unwell’,” said Foreign Minister S M Qureshi.
Earlier this week on Tuesday, Pak army claimed 44 terrorists, including Masood Azhar’s son and brother into ‘preventive custody’.
On Wednesday, Pak claimed to speak otherwise, in a very different tune denied JeM’s existence on their soil. Major General Asif Ghafoor said, “JeM does not exist in Pak.” Interestingly, it was the same day when the terror-based outfit released the audio tape announcing “Azhar is alive” with a warning “fear God” to the authorities.
“First of all, that (JeM’s) claim has not been made from within Pakistan because JeM does not exist in Pakistan as it has been proscribed by the UN and Pakistan also,” Major General Asif Ghafoor had told CNN.
The contradicting statements earlier seemed confusing, however, not it seems very clear that Pak has been unable to stand to its own stance.
The international community has caught Pak’s bluff and for what it’s worth, it doesn’t favour the credibility of the nation.
