The local police officially requested India Today TV for the raw footage and assured that an FIR will be booked against the guilty.
India Today journo reported live from the heinous ‘festival’ on February 15, 2019 that soon got in light of PETA India.
Since then the animal welfare organization has been working with the district authorities to get an FIR filed against the brutality inflicted on cattle.
Disha News has learnt that the festival is politically sponsored and the winner of the oxen-pulled cart race gets a prize money of rupees 15,000.
“We have demanded for a complete ban on such races as they are violative of the Hon’ble SC order dated 7 May 2014. Dr. Fakkeerappa Kaginelli IPS has assured action,” tweeted PETA India on Sunday.
