According to reports, nine European countries are allowing Covishield vaccinations for travel to their countries.
According to the reports, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, and Spain are among the nations that allow persons who have received Covishield immunizations to travel.
According to them, Switzerland has accepted Covishield as a Schengen member.
Separately, Estonia has indicated that it will accept any vaccinations approved by the Indian government for Indians travelling to that country, according to the sources.
India has previously urged the EU member countries to individually consider letting Indians who have taken Covishield and Covaxin vaccines who want to travel to Europe.
The European Union’s Digital Covid certificate or “Green Pass” is going into force on Thursday with an objective to allow free travel during the COVID-19 epidemic.
Persons who have received vaccinations approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) will be free from travel restrictions throughout the EU region under this system.
Individual member states can accept vaccinations that have been approved at the national level or that have been recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO).

During a meeting with Josep Borrell Fontelles, the European Union’s High Representative, on Tuesday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar raised the subject of Covishield’s inclusion in the EU’s digital Covid certificate program.
