The 67th National Film Awards were announced in New Delhi on Monday evening, with awards given out for films released in 2019. The Directorate of Film Festivals, which is part of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, is in charge of organizing the event.
The Malayalam war epic Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea, directed by Priyadarshan and starring Mohanlal, won Best Feature Film. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film is yet to be released in theatres. Manoj Bajapayee for Bhonsle, Dhanush for Tamil film Asuran, and Kangana Ranaut for two of her films: Panga and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi took home the best acting awards.
