Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that a target has been set to make India number one in every sector by 2047.
This requires a strong foundation of education. In this direction, a new education policy was designed in 2020.
Policy was based on quality encompassing out-of-the-box thinking deviating from orthodox ways.
It is a matter of pride that this policy was implemented first in Madhya Pradesh.
This will enable the students compete with the students of the world in the next 25 years.
It is also a matter of pride that Madhya Pradesh has provided the students with opportunities to study engineering and medical education in their mother tongue. The objective is to provide equal opportunities to all sections of people.
He said that he had acquainted himself about the status of Pradhan Mantri College of Excellence.
He expressed hope that the Pradhan Mantri College of Excellence will bring glory to Madhya Pradesh as a well-reputed institution of quality higher education.
Union Home Minister Shah said that the specialty of these excellence colleges is that all the courses will be offered as per the new education policy and these colleges will be equipped well with all the resources benefitting immensely the students.
He was addressing a gathering after virtually inaugurating the PM Colleges of Excellence from Indore today.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that through the new education policy, students are having opportunities to acquire vocational education and thus gaining life skills.
These Colleges of Excellence will give new direction to the youth. He said that Lord Krishna lived in the holy land of Malwa and received education.
The formal inauguration of these colleges in less than six months shows the commitment of the government. He informed the students about the various courses in all 55 colleges and the development works done at a cost of about Rs 450 crore.
Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar gave details about the courses offered in the Pradhan Mantri Colleges of Excellence, available resources, human resources for running the faculties, and the Vidyavans being developed here.
Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shankar Lalwani, MP Kavita Patidar, MLA Ramesh Mendola, Madhu Verma, Golu Shukla and other public representatives and Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh, IG Anurag, Police Commissioner Rakesh Gupta. Collector Ashish Singh and a large number of students were present.
Earlier, Union Minister Shri Shah virtually inaugurated the counter of Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy College in the campus and inaugurated the Indian Knowledge System Cell. He also released a booklet on Pradhan Mantri College of Excellence.
A video film on the Pradhan Mantri College of Excellence was also screened. ACS Higher Education K.C. Gupta proposed the vote of thanks.
