Millets (ShreeAnn) brand ambassador Lahari Bai and Padmashree Arjun Singh took membership of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh.

Bharatiya Kisan Sangh targets to have one crore members in one lakh villages, mega membership campaign going on across the country.

Bharatiya Kisan Sangh is the largest organization of farmers in the country. These days, a mega membership campaign of Farmers Union is going on across the country.

In the Mega Membership Campaign, Kisan Sangh workers are going door to door from village to village and making farmers and people from different sections of the society associated with agricultural work as members.

In this series, Bharat Patel, regional organization secretary of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, during his stay in Dindori district on Thursday, visited the villages of Silpidi, Dhurkuta, Bhursi, Chada, Bajag, Chunpathri, Baishakhu Tola, Navatola, Mohtra etc. of the Baiga tribe area took the membership in the campaign.

Under the general membership campaign in Baiga tribal area, Millets (ShreeAnn) brand ambassador Lahari Bai and Padma Shri awardee Arjun Singh Dhurve were made members of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh.

On this occasion, hundreds of farmers of Dindori took membership of the Kisan Union.

Dindori District President of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh said that this year is the membership year of the Kisan Sangh.

This year, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh has set a target of making one crore members in one lakh villages across the country.

After becoming one crore members, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh will achieve the distinction of being the largest farmers organization in the world.

On this ocassion, regional organisation secretary Bharat Patel, district president Bihari Lal Sahu, Bajag Tehsil president Akhilesh Pateria, Treasurer and Surpanch Subhash Karcham, Karanjia Development Block President Asaram Yadav, village committee presidents and ministers of many villages and farmer brothers were present in the general membership campaign.

Lahari Bai, a tribal woman from Dindori, a tribal district of Madhya Pradesh, has been declared the Millets Ambassador.

UNESCO has declared 2023 as the Year of Millets.

In this respect, this achievement of Lahari Bai is very special.

Lahari Bai of Baiga tribe has prepared a beaver seed bank. The special thing is that he has prepared this seed bank on his own.

She has not taken any government help for this.

More than 150 varieties of seeds are in Lahari Bai’s seed bank. She also distributes seeds to everyone.

Arjun Dhurve is a folk dancer and a retired teacher from Dindori district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

He is famous for popularizing Baiga folk songs and dances.

Baiga Pardhauni dance is the main dance of Baiga tribe.

In this form of dance the artists wear masks of peacock, elephant, horse etc.

In the year 2022, the Government of India honored Arjun Singh Dhurve with the Padma Shri Award, the third highest award in the series of Padma Awards, for his distinguished service in the field of arts.
