Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that 21st September will be a historic day for our state. Along with the unveiling of the divine statue at Omkareshwar, the centre of knowledge of Adi Guru Shankaracharya, the foundation of Ekatmadham will also be laid. In a discussion with the media in Indore, Chief Minister Chouhan said that Adi Guru Shankaracharya Maharaj did the work of culturally uniting the country.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya was Kerala, but he attained knowledge in Omkareshwar while traveling through forests and mountains. After gaining knowledge from here, he proceeded towards Kashi. India is one because of his Advaita Vedanta. Adi Shankaracharya created four Mathas in the four corners of the country.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that prominent saints including Swami Vivekananda, Swami Ramtirtha, Tulsi Das and Kabir Das have adopted the Advaita knowledge of Adi Guru Shankaracharya. We are building Ekatmadham in his memory so that future generations continue to get knowledge.
