Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, said today that a democratic revolution will take place in Uttar Pradesh in 2022 to combat the current “disruptive” and “negative” politics.

Akhilesh Yadav said in a Hindi tweet, “United against today’s disruptive, conservative, negative politics, a new politics of exploited, ignored, oppressed, humiliated, Dalit, oppressed, impoverished, poor, farmers, workers, women, and young is taking birth.”
The SP leader expressed confidence that his party will win 350 of the 403 seats in the legislature, stating that the public is opposed to the BJP administration.
“In 2022, there will be no election in UP, there will be a democratic revolution,” the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said.
Leaders of the SP are optimistic that the anti-incumbency factor against the Yogi administration would work in their favour. The party, which suffered a significant setback in the 2017 assembly elections, is hoping to resurrect its fortunes and repeat its 224-seat victory in 2012. Despite an agreement with the Congress, the SP only managed to win 47 seats in the 403-member Assembly in 2017, while the BJP swept to power with 312 seats.
The BJP is also under fire for managing the epidemic, and national and international media coverage of photos of dead bodies floating in the Ganga has tarnished the government’s image. Despite the schism, Sanjay Kumar believes the BJP can reverse the tide in its favour as long as the opposition parties stay split.
