Indore police detained two sisters from the Mhow cantonment on suspicion of spying after they were reportedly found in contact with two Pakistani nationals accused of working for that country’s spy agency, the Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI).

The case is being investigated by the police and Military Intelligence. According to sources close to the probe, the women are now being questioned, and the credentials of their Pakistani contacts are being checked. The twins, 32 and 28, work as school teachers in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, also known as Mhow, near Indore.

The police allege that they have been in contact with the men from Pakistan for over a year through social media sites using fictitious identities. Their mobile phones and other electronic devices have been confiscated, according to sources related to the investigation.

Indore Inspector General Hari Narayan Chari Mishra said that the local police and intelligence agencies are working together to solve the problem.

“The two women were apprehended in Mhow’s Gawli Palasia. They are accused of transmitting sensitive information from Mhow to other countries “Mr. Mishra said to the media.

According to reports, the two of them have been on the radar of the police and the Military Intelligence because of sensitive information about their online activities concerning Pakistani nationals. According to them, their connections include alleged ISI spies as well as former or serving Pakistani army and navy officers.

Mohsin Khan and Dilawar, among others, have been described as their Pakistani contacts.
