The 1100 devotees started the day by taking Guru Diksha (initiation) before participating in the 1008 Kundiya Mahayagya chanting the name of Shri Sitaram for the welfare of the world, going on in the Maa Sharda Devi temple campus at Rajghat under Surkhi assembly constituency.
The Diksha was given by saint Shri Atmananddas Ji Tyagi Nepali Baba gave initiation to all the hosts by reciting mantra verses, then Rudra Abhishek was performed by all the hosts with the water brought from Narmada ji.
At around 12 noon yagna was performed by changing the verses of Ramayana.
It is noteworthy that arrangements have been made for all the devotees to stay in Ram Nagar, Laxman Nagar, Hanuman Nagar in the Yajna Shala area itself, in which all the devotees themselves do all their work, cook their own food and at 4 am in the morning after getting up, they get engaged in worship.
Thousands of devotees are coming to the place of Yagya for the benefit of world, in which, apart from Surkhi Vidhansabha area, every day a group of devotees from the district and the state are coming, whose food was arranged by the Yagya Committee.

Apart from this, there is no dearth of people who donate in the Maha Yagya. Arrangements have been made by the Yajna Committee for the stay of all the devotees and their relatives.
The Yajna Committee has specially made arrangements for the devotees to stay in separate cottages. Mela spokesman Rajkumar Barkoti told that from today onwards Valmiki Ramayana recitation will be started by Param Tejasvi Nepali Baba Ji, in which thousands of devotees will be present.
Till 05:30 pm, 1100 devotees who took initiation offered sacrifices in the Agni Kund.
On this occasion, former district panchayat president Savita Singh Rajput, Arvind Singh Tinku Raja worshiped Guru ji after taking initiation.
Dr. Virendra Pathak, Rajkumar Barkoti, Kunwar Singh Thakur, Bhanu Yadav and the members of the yagya committee made arrangements for food prasadi for the visiting hosts and devotees.
